Master of Science in Artificial intelligence
Programme Information
The Master of Science in Artificial Intelligence [MSc(AI)] is an interdisciplinary taught postgraduate programme jointly offered by the Department of Mathematics (host) and the School of Computing Data Science. Its academic focus is promoting the applications of mathematics, statistics, and computer science to facilitate AI in decision-making and problem-solving for various organizations and enterprises within the private and public sectors.
Programme Duration
Full-time: 1.5 years
Class Schedule
Classes are normally conducted in weekdays, including daytime and evenings. Some courses may be scheduled during weekends.

Tuition Fees
The tuition fee is HK$360,000* for students admitted in September 2025. The fee shall normally be payable in three instalments over 1.5 years for full-time study.

Master of Science in Artificial Intelligence Entrance Scholarship (HK$20,000)
Master of Science in Artificial Intelligence Outstanding Performance Scholarship (HK$20,000 – HK$30,000)
Congregation
Graduands who are eligible for graduation will be assigned to the Congregation nearest to the completion date of their studies for conferral of degree. The expected degree conferment will take place in July 2027 (Summer Congregation).
Programme Highlights
Interdisciplinary and well-balanced curriculum
Students will receive solid training in diverse techniques used in AI from the core courses. Elective courses cover related topics from mathematics, statistics and computer science. Students will conduct a capstone project with real-life applications. There will be guest lectures by distinguished scholars and industry experts and ample internship opportunities in the AI industry and academia.
Learning within and beyond AI
Student will learn the AI-related applications of mathematics, statistics and computer science to solve real-life problems. The theoretical elements in the curriculum will help students develop essential intellectual capacity at large.

Teaching team has strong connections with high-tech industries in the Greater Bay Area. Our graduates are expected to be well prepared for careers such as software engineers, consultants, and research scientists in AI and related fields such as big data and financial technology.
